Lauren Luloff

A great part of my work is developing and gathering a large range of movements, or methods of creating. It is an accumulation of many different ways of mark making. I constantly expand the diversity of my artistic language, and then I overlap these ideas: contrasting styles and modes. I believe I want to have an endless bank of methodology from which to create. An infinite alphabet.

In addition to creating visual art, I have also concentrated on music-making for the past five years, recording dozens of tapes on my four-track, mostly solo, but also collaboratively. I have played in three bands. My music is similar to my art: experimental, awkward, emotional and sometimes loud. I am interested in creating scenarios where art and music collide. Visual fields within which the creation of music can take place.
