Orbis Tertius
Orbis Tertius Ensemble
is an improvising group performing on a range of acoustic, analog and
digital electronic instruments along with live theatrical performance.
The group is conducted by the computer in an open-improvisation with interactive
video programmed in Max/MSP/Jitter. The performers include, but are not
limited to, Nick Lesley, Jenny Seastone Stern, David Moss, Jessica Pavone,
Andres Marino, Yoni Niv, Zachary Seldess, and more. Much of the fuel for
the performance comes from a short story by Jorge Luis Borges called "Tlon,
Uqbar, Orbis
Tertius" which is about a collaboratively invented planet, the people
of which have an alternate perception of space, time, and individuality
in existence. |
